YVES LAFOREST

Yves started kite flying around the age of 10, when his father tried to make him a kite.  It didn't fly... Stopping at nothing, he bought Yves his first single line delta kite with a 5-foot wingspan; his first foray in the world of kite flying.  He flew it a lot and still has it.  A dozen years later, he saw people flying acrobatic kites on a river in St-Eustache.  He went to see them and the following week he bought 4!!!  And a few more in the weeks that followed.  He quickly  became a member of the Fédération Québécoise du Cerf-volant (Quebec Kite Federation) and 2 years later, became president.

A few years later, with his wife Anne, they opened their kite company Vent en Fête.  They did kite workshops, kite exhibits, festivals, etc. for 15 years.  It's at an event where they met Peter Lynn and  our passion for large kites started right there!  We had the chance to fly the Mega-Ray a few times and they just loved that kite...

Now at  67 while starting to run a little slower, he still loves big kites and still has that smile when one of these big beasts flies into the sky!
